U.S. Figure Skating basic skills level 6, I.S.I freestyle 1, or a strong knowledge of...
- backward crossovers
- spirals
- footwork
- one foot spin
- ½ jumps
- Must be a South Lyon or South Lyon East student
- Must own a good pair of figure skates
- You must be enrolled in a basic skills program or have lessons with a private instructor
- You will need to be a United States Figure Skating member (USFS)
- or an Ice Skating Institute member (ISI)
- You Must skate a minimum of once a week on your own. September- March
- Two team practices per month from November 2007 – February 2008 (We have not yet set the day of week or time for team practices)
- If we make it to States in March, there will be one to two more team practices. (not in the budget)
- Competition Dress
- Team warm-up jacket with breakaway pants
- Black zip up fleece jacket
Notes:
- You will not be penalized if you miss a practice; however coaches fees will still apply
- We will have team practice the week before a competition
- ALL SKATERS should try their hardest to attend all practice prior to the competitions for the betterment of the team
- There is an additional cost of $8-$10 (estimated) per session for ice time when the team practices. Skaters are responsible to pay the cashier before taking the ice
